Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 10, 2026. Plain language — because you deserve to understand what happens with your data.

The Short Version

We collect your email, your assessment answers, and your usage data to run the service. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. Your personal answers stay private. You can delete your account and all your data at any time by emailing us.

1. Who We Are

Ten Pillars ("we," "us," "our") is an AI-powered life coaching platform. We're headquartered in the United States. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@tenpillars.ai.

2. What We Collect

Information you provide

  • Your email address and name when you create an account
  • Your assessment answers (your honest responses to the 20 questions across 10 life pillars)
  • Messages you send to the AI coach
  • Payment information (processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number)
  • Messages you send us via the contact form

Information collected automatically

  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • Which pages and features you use, and how often
  • IP address (used for security and to prevent abuse)
  • Cookies and similar technologies for session management

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To generate your personalized roadmap and provide AI coaching
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the platform
  • To send you important service communications (account updates, billing)
  • To send you optional product updates and tips (you can unsubscribe anytime)
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
  • To comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We share data only with:

  • Anthropic — to power the AI coaching (your assessment answers are sent to Claude to generate your roadmap). Anthropic's data processing is governed by their privacy policy.
  • Supabase — our database provider, who stores your account data and roadmaps.
  • Stripe — our payment processor. They handle all payment data under their own privacy policy.
  • Service providers who help us operate the platform (email delivery, analytics) — under strict data processing agreements.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.

5. Your Assessment Answers

Your assessment answers are personal and sensitive. We treat them accordingly:

  • They are encrypted in our database
  • They are sent to Anthropic's Claude API only to generate your roadmap — Anthropic does not use your data to train their models (per their API usage policy)
  • No human at Ten Pillars reads your answers unless you report a technical issue and explicitly ask for help
  • They are deleted when you delete your account

6. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in and to understand how you use the platform (analytics). We don't use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

7. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to retain it longer (e.g., financial records for 7 years as required by law).

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Object to certain processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@tenpillars.ai. We'll respond within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

Ten Pillars is not intended for anyone under 16 years old. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it immediately.

10. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, regular security reviews, and limited employee access to personal data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take your data's safety seriously.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email and by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated policy.
